Rental Qualifications and Requirements

AGE RESTRICTIONS AND EXCEPTIONS

You and any person driving the vehicle must be 21* years of age or over (unless approved in writing by Hertz) and must hold a current drivers licence that:

• is in English or, if not in English, is accompanied by a certified English translation;
• is valid for driving the vehicle;
• is not a learner’s permit;
• the driver has held for at least twelve consecutive months; and
• satisfies any other conditions on the Rental Agreement or in any Additional Terms.

• If the vehicle is from Hertz's Adrenaline Collection (Groups B5, M5, U5), you and any person driving the vehicle must be at least 25 years of age.
• If the vehicle is from the Hertz Prestige Collection, the minimum age is 21 and the age surcharge will apply as per below.

*An age surcharge will apply for all drivers, including additional authorised drivers on the rental agreement, who are aged between 21-24yrs.

The surcharge is capped at 7 days for every 30 day period And depending on the vehicle the following fees apply :

Exemptions may apply in conjunction with some Customer Discount Program (CDP) numbers and Promotional offers.

Maximum Age

From all Hertz locations in Australia, there is no set maximum driving age, however, a medical certificate is recommended from drivers over 75.

Ultimately, it is the location's decision if they will rent to a person over the age of 75.
